Pipelean Sales Recorder — Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 May 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the Pipelean Sales Recorder Chrome extension (the “Extension”), published by Pipelean, collects, uses and protects information when you use it together with your Pipelean account at agency.pipelean.io. For data processed by the Pipelean web platform itself, see our main Privacy Policy.
1. What the Extension does
The Extension records the audio of the browser tab you explicitly choose (typically a sales call on Google Meet, Zoom Web, Microsoft Teams Web, or similar) and uploads it to your Pipelean Sales Hub, where it is transcribed and analysed by AI to produce summaries, action items, CRM fields and coaching scores.
2. Data the Extension handles
- Authentication token: a one-time token generated in your Pipelean dashboard is stored locally via
chrome.storage.localto link the Extension to your account. It is never shared with third parties. - Audio recordings: only the audio of the tab you explicitly start recording. Recording is user-initiated and visibly indicated by a control overlay and a recording icon on the extension button.
- Call metadata: start/end time, duration, the URL of the tab where recording was started (to help you identify the call).
- Browser identification (optional): a non-personal label (e.g. browser name) that you can edit, so multiple installations are distinguishable in your dashboard.
3. Data the Extension does NOT collect
- No browsing history, cookies, passwords, or form data.
- No page content, screenshots, or video — audio only.
- No data from tabs other than the one you actively record.
- No advertising identifiers; no tracking across sites.
- No microphone or webcam access outside the captured tab.
4. Where data is sent
Audio chunks and call metadata are uploaded directly to Pipelean's backend (Lovable Cloud / Supabase, EU region) using authenticated HTTPS. From there, audio is sent to ElevenLabs for speech-to-text transcription and the resulting transcript is sent to the Lovable AI Gateway (which routes to Google Gemini / OpenAI models) for analysis. These providers act as sub-processors and are contractually prohibited from using your content to train their models.
5. Retention
Audio files, transcripts and analyses are stored in your Pipelean workspace and remain available until you delete the call or your account. Deleting a call from your Sales Hub removes the underlying audio and transcript from our storage within 30 days.
6. Permissions and why we need them
- tabCapture — to capture the audio stream of the tab you choose to record.
- storage — to keep your connection token and recording state locally in the browser.
- activeTab / scripting — to inject the recording overlay (Pause / Resume / Stop) into the active tab.
- offscreen — required by Chrome Manifest V3 to run
MediaRecorderin the background while you continue using the tab. - notifications — to notify you when transcription and analysis are ready.
- alarms — to flush audio chunks periodically during long recordings so nothing is lost.
- host_permissions: <all_urls> — because sales calls can take place on any web meeting platform; the Extension only ever accesses the tab you explicitly choose to record.
- externally_connectable (limited to
agency.pipelean.io) — to let the Pipelean web dashboard hand the connection token to the Extension with a single click.
7. Selling of data
We do not sell, rent or trade your data with any third party, and we do not use it for advertising. Data is used only to provide the service you have requested.
8. Security
All traffic between the Extension and Pipelean is encrypted with TLS. Data at rest is encrypted on our cloud provider. The connection token can be revoked at any time from the Sales Hub, which immediately invalidates the Extension installation.
9. Your rights
Under GDPR you can access, rectify, export or delete your personal data and recordings. Write to privacy@pipelean.io to exercise these rights or to ask any question about this policy.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when the Extension changes. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced in the Sales Hub.
